New Immigrants

Israel is a home to immigrants from all over the world that have made Aliyah throughout the years of its existence. Many of the immigrants escaped persecution for being Jewish, and coming to Israel gave them a sense of hope and security. Nonetheless, many of them lost their properties and belongings in the process, having to leave it behind. They came to a new land with a different language, with different culture and customs, which makes the absorption process long and complicated.

Vision for Israel works in cooperation with absorption centers and the Jewish Agency and believes that it’s our responsibility to help the immigrants who sacrificed their whole lives to come to Israel. Vision for Israel has been promoting the absorption of immigrants for over 10 years, helping to integrate the immigrants in original ways, while cooperating with the staff in the absorption centers. The goal is to bring the immigrants to fully integrate into the community life and Israeli culture, giving support in their first years in the country, and even in later years. Vision for Israel is in direct contact with absorption centers and welfare offices, ready to give aid to any immigrant.

We invest a lot of effort into assisting and relieving the new immigrants. Throughout the years, we’ve donated large amounts of aid to absorption centers, including food, clothing, blankets, baby supplies and more. Individual immigrants also receive financial aid, furniture, electric appliances and even medical aid. Some of the aid goes out in the form of sponsoring cultural activities for Café Europa, a special weekly social gathering for Holocaust survivors who have immigrated to Israel. The event provides them with a caring community and a way to gather together with people who speak their language and understand their hardship.

One of the main places we’ve been involved with is the Mevasseret Zion Absorption Center, giving aid to the Ethiopian community. Over the years, we have developed a special connection with the staff there. We have supported the work of the absorption center, and the fruitful cooperation has helped many immigrants integrate into Israeli society.
